Have you attended a House Concert? Did you have a great time? Or, do you wonder "What is a House Concert"?
WHAT IS A HOUSE CONCERT??
It is exactly as it sounds. A full concert for at least 20 people in the comfort of someones home.
It doesn't need to be a huge home - cozy is part of the fun. Snacks and a chance to visit in a relaxed atmosphere are other perks of this kind of concert.
I started organizing House Concerts last summer (2011) at the recommendation of an article sent to me by my wise young son Tucker.
The article suggested that asking friends and fans to host a concert in their home was a great way to promote a new CD and to raise funds for its production and promotion.
It is also a great way to let people hear live music and enjoy the company of other like minded folks in a very relaxed and casual way.
My band and I have had a ball at all the house concerts so far. The feedback from the audiences has been amazing.
SPECIAL REASONS, SEASONS AND OCCASIONS...
Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Valentines, Stampede, bon voyage, retirement, promotions, dinner clubs, book clubs, wine clubs, hiking clubs etc. etc. etc.
A chance to get together to visit before the concert, during intermission and after the concert. A new and fun way to experience live music.

HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE THE CONCERT??
- I send out an email poster to the host with all the info and links about my band Carolyn Harley & the Davidsons. The host sends out the e-poster to arrange for at least 20 friends to come for the concert.
- The ticket price is $20.00 and the concert is two 45 minute sets of live, original music with audience participation and wonderful solos and harmony from my amazing band.
- Laughs are always abundant at my concerts and amazing discussions happen in the middle of the show about various subjects. eg. losing your memory, your hair, your car!!
Quote from one 'grandma' in the audience who had an expereince with her granddaughter at the mall.
"Grandma, do we have to walk home if you can't find your car?"
